3 Tips For Fast & Feast In Navratri

3 tips for Fast & Feast in Navratri

During festival season fast & feast go hand in hand, but

many don’t know how to maintain balance between two.

Every month, every season there is a festival for

you to celebrate & indulge yourself into feasting. Both

fasting & feasting are important & much required for

your body. But if you follow it correctly then

it can help you to achieve maximum benefit.

Here are 3 tips for fast & feast in Navratri:

#1 Watch your health status

Before starting any fast you must check your

health status weather you are physically fit & healthy

to withstand the changes that happen during your fasting.

Pregnant women & diabetic are not advised to do fasting.

#2 Keep yourself hydrated

You must drink enough water during your fasting, as

not having enough water will make you feel fatigued,

lethargic & weak. If you don’t like water much, then

you can have coconut water, butter milk or lemon water.

But keep yourself hydrated as much as you can.

#3 Break your fast with healthy food

I have seen that those who do fasting whole day, they

break their fast at night with very heavy meal

consisting of all oily food, lots of sweets etc.  But

remember- these will disturb your digestive system &

can lead to bloating, acidity or constipation. So,

never break your fast with high calorie diet like

sweets, deep fried or unhealthy processed food.

You have plenty of healthy alternatives like

whole grain, pulses, sprouts, nuts, fruits and vegetables.

You could be fasting for religious purposes, for

weight loss or for any other reason, but it is important to

listen to your body first. So, a balance

between fasting & feasting is the key to achieve

good health in the long run.
