How to lower your cholesterol ‘naturally’?
You all are aware that excess of cholesterol is responsible
for atherosclerosis, that is – formation of plaque in your
blood vessels which leads to heart attack, stroke etc.
It is very commonly asked question to me that
“which food will help you to control your cholesterol?”
Following are the nutrients and their sources which help
you to control your cholesterol-
High fiber food:
Fiber helps you to increase your good cholesterol. This
good cholesterol (HDL) helps you to wash out your
bad cholesterol (LDL, VLDL, etc).
Good natural vegetarian sources of high fiber are:
- Green leafy vegetables
- Papaya
- Sweet potato
Omega 3 fatty acid:
- It helps to lower your triglyceride & bad cholesterol.
- It helps to retard your atherosclerosis
- It helps too control your blood pressure
- It reduces blood viscosity and helps you to prevent attacks and strokes.
- It also helps to enhance your immune system.
