Child Eczema & Food As A Medicine

Child Eczema & Food as a Medicine

If you are a parent, pay attention:

If your child is having hot, dry and itchy skin-which

breaks and sometimes even bleeds, don’t

ignore it as just dry skin because of winter.

Your child may have ECZEMA.

What causes eczema?

It is said to be an allergic condition.

It is triggered by environmental factors like=

  • AIR POLLUTION
  • PETS
  • FOOD ALLERGIES ETC.

What to do?

Consult your doctor or dermatologist and get proper treatment.

Just application of cold cream won’t help.

How food will help?

Long chain essential fatty acids like OMEGA-3 FATTY ACID will help.

Good vegetarian sources of omega3 fatty acids are—

WALNUT- the best time to take walnut is first thing in morning or in between main meals.

Soaked walnut are more beneficial.

FLAX SEEDS- Raw flax seed are more beneficial then roasted.

Along with omega-3 fatty acid it also contains fibres.

CHIA SEED- Chia seeds are not only rich in omega -3 but they are also rich in vitamins, minerals and dietary fibres.

They are also loaded with calcium, protein and magnesium.

Soak chia seeds in water, milk or any liquid for

1-2 hrs and then you can have it.

It can also give you satiety feeling- that is fullness of stomach.

Omega-3 fatty acids work as they have anti-inflammatory properties. But,

they will take few weeks to show their effects.

Your child’s overall diet should be moderately low in saturated and

trans fats, as they will block the effect of omega-3 fatty acids.

Also, make sure that your child takes enough vitamin-A, C and E.

Good vegetarian sources of

vitamin-A are= carrot, beet and green leafy vegetables.

Vitamin-C= Amla and Guava

Vitamin-E= nuts like-Almond, cashewnuts, walnuts, etc.

You also need to make sure that your child drinks enough of water,

that is at least 2-3 litters per day, as

it is commonly forgotten in winter season.

Skin allergies are very common among growing children.

Taking care about their proper hygiene and

proper nutrition would surely help!

That all for today.

See you next Tuesday

With another Tuesday tip.

Till then…..

Take care…
