Crack heel – The common winter problem
In winter there is lack of humidity inside and
outside your body. This leads to dryness of
your skin. The most common sight of dry skin is
your heel. It is very much important to take care in
the initial stage of dryness. If you don’t take care,
your dry skin over heel leads to cracks and
more deeper wounds. This wound then easily get
infected. And if you have any chronic diseases like
diabetes then this may further worsen your suffering.
The most common causes of cracked heels are:
- Eczema
- Aging
- Walking barefoot &
- lack of nutrients.
You must be aware of many moisturizing creams and
ointments to treat crack heel. But along with this external
applications like glycerine, shea butter and honey,
it is also important to treat it from inside. As now you know that

nutrients that helps to treat your crack heels from inside and they are:
vitamin C
- It helps your body to produce collage to repair your skin.
- It also helps to prevent cellular damage.
- It also helps your body to retain moisture in your skin.
Good natural vegetarian sources of vitamin C for winter are:
- Amla
- Guava
- Raw sprouts
Vitamin B3 (Niacin)
- Deficiency of niacin can lead to dry & scaly skin.
Good natural vegetarian sources of vitamin B3 in winter are:
- Radish leaves
- Peanuts
- Garden cress seeds (asalio)
- Sesame seeds (tal)
Another important nutrient is
Vitamin E
- This vitamin helps to protect your skin collagen and

- Spinach

- Sunflower seeds
In addition, make sure to drink at least
2.5 litres of water every day. It is equally important to
