Generally, it is believed that dandruff occurs due to dry skin
especially in winter season. Yes! it can be one of the reasons. But
dandruff can also occur in any season and can be due to many other
reasons like-
- oily & sensitive scalp
- not cleaning your scalp properly
- some yeast- fungus infection
- other skin problems like psoriasis or eczema.
- Allergic to hair care products (dermatitis). Etc.
As it is important to take care of your scalp and hair
externally- it is equally important to take care of them internally. Your
food can be your medicine. There are certain nutrients
which can help you in early recovery of your dandruff. So,
Which food groups helps you in dandruff?
Selenium:
It helps to relieve the flaking & itching
of your scalp.
Vitamin E:
It helps to balance the oil on your scalp &
relieves its dryness.
Good natural vegetarian sources of Selenium & vitamin E are:
- Almond
- Walnut
- Sesame seed
- Pumpkin seed
To get more benefit out of almond, walnut & pumpkin seeds, it is
necessary to soak them over night & then chew them properly.
Best time to have nuts is in the morning or evening time.
