How To Tackle Your Motion Sickness???

How to tackle your Motion Sickness???

I have seen many patients who

like travelling. But they avoid going out as

they are afraid of motion sickness.

First, let us see why you suffer from motion sickness-

You get motion sickness when there are

conflicts among your senses. When you

are on ride, your eyes see one thing, your

muscles feel another and, your inner ears

senses something else. But, your brain can’t

take in all those mixed signals. That’s why

you end up feeling sick.

Now Diwali is near & It is time for Diwali vacation…..

Means time for tours & travelling….

But don’t worry….

You too can enjoy travelling at your

favourite place even if you have motion sickness.

Just follow these simple tips & enjoy

your vacation with your loved ones….

  • While travelling keep your inner ear stable as

much as possible by selecting the right seat-that is

front seat in a car or bus, over wings in an

airplane, & facing forward in the train.

  • Don’t use anything in close up like a book,

mobile or any digital screen while travelling. Instead,

look at some fixed point on the horizon.

  • Eat light just before your travelling like Dal -Rice,

Khichadi, poha, upma etc. Don’t eat fatty food which

is difficult to digest. Avoid anything that upsets your stomach.

  • You carry lots of snacks while travelling as

you love to eat while travelling. But remember –

don’t over eat while travelling. Have

light snacks like mumra, fruits, khakhra, popcorn etc.

There are some foods which can help you to

prevent nausea & vomiting while travelling-

They are as follow-

  • Ginger – Highly recommended by Ayurveda for digestive problems. If you

keep dry, salted ginger in your mouth &

suck it slowly while travelling, it will help.

  • Juicy fruits – Have lots of juicy fruits like oranges, sweet lime,

Pineapple etc. They help you

over come nausea and keep you hydrated.

  • Lemon water –Have lemon water instead of plain water. It

would be more palatable.

That’s all for today

Hope this vacation you will enjoy your travelling….

Wish you a very happy Diwali   &

Great vacation
