Ice-cream:Your Favorite Treat For Summer

Ice-cream:Your favorite treat for summer

As the temperature has started rising, the thing that

comes to your mind is ice-cream!!

I have seen that many of you in summer make

habit of having ice- cream almost every day. And the worst

part is that you have your ice-cream mostly after your heavy dinner. It is

ok to have ice-cream occasionally. But, if your freezer is always packed

with party packs of ice-cream, you should be cautious for two reasons:

Reason #1

It is energy dense food. this means, it is having very high

calories in a small serving.

Reason #2

It contains artificial flavoring and coloring agents. These

artificial agents might be the reason behind your child’s

excessive irritability. To learn more on this, click here

to visit our previous tip on artificial coloring and

flavoring agents.

What can you do?

Limit your frequency:

  • Once in a month is fine. However, if it is

too less for you, to begin with, you can have

it twice in a month. That too in between your main meal.

Having ice- cream after your dinner will just add on

excessive calories.

Limit your quantity:

  • Don’t pack your freezer with the party pack of ice-cream.

No; party pack are not cheaper. They are costlier

health wise.

  • Instead, go for small cups or bars of ice-cream and

finish them off on the same day rather than

preserving them.

Go for quality:

  • If possible, go for all-natural ice-cream.
  • It would be still better if you make your ice-cream

at home & don’t use artificial coloring and flavoring

agents in it.

  • But remember don’t make it in a large quantity.

Make sure your child cleans the teeth soon after

eating the ice-cream or candy… oral health is

equally important…

That’s all for today,

See you next Tuesday with

Another Tuesday tip,

Till then, take care.
